Hello! I don't know if any of you are aware, but Andy has a sister, called Helen. She ALSO does a podcast with a friend who has "Oliver" somewhere in his name. It's called "Answer Me This," with Helen Zaltzman and Oliver Mann (and Martin the Sound Man), and they answer a variety of questions from listeners. Nothing to do with politics, but funny.

ANYWAY, I'm telling you all this because Andy will be a guest on that podcast next week! Listeners have been invited to ask him questions, so if there's something you want to ask Andy- factual, political, classical, pun-related, or whatever- send it in! Contact details for the show below:

"Get your excitement on the boil in anticipation of next week’s Special Guestisode, featuring Andy Zaltzman out of the Bugle podcast and Helen’s gene pool; then send him some QUESTIONS. Preface them with ‘Andy, answer me this’ – email them to answermethispodcast@googlemail.com or leave a voicemail on Skype ID answermethis or our question line 0208 123 5877; or if you’re absolutely horrified at a stranger responding to your problem, the usual question-posing format will be perfectly fine."

Note: You can listen to shows at the website- http://answermethis.wordpress.com/ - or it's available from itunes [warning: shows often NSFW, at least language-wise].

Imported from thebugle...

Andy is sponsoring his daughter Matilda in a school obstacle course race for Sport Relief (though technically she's already done it). He called on Buglers to donate, too (at least to the tune of 10 pence) Spare a little for this cause!

For those unfamiliar with Sport Relief, go here.

Andy's sponsorship page where you can donate (even if you're not in the UK).

Did anyone happen to download and save the first two weeks of Chris Addison's show with Andy (and others) 7 Day Sunday? I totally spaced on saving them for later listening, and both the website and iTunes only have the most recent podcast available. :(

Andy is in this week's Radio Times and I finally got my scanner working in order to post the pic. Under the cut because it's far too big for F-pages:

Zaltzman is a master of the comic simile...Collapse )
Andy has a podcast on Cricinfo.com!

'Sehwag eats man-eating lions'

Is that Horace or Matilda trying to say his/her daddy's name? D'awww! ^^

He's also this week's guest on XFM's Marsha Meets:

Among their Christmas Treats section:

Former stockbroker Max Keiser predicts the major economic trends for 2010 in The Keiser's Business Guide To 2010. Max is joined Andy Zaltzman, economist Professor Steve Keen, politicians and financial experts to take a look back at the extraordinary events of last year and make predictions about what could happen in the next twelve months.

I cannot see Andy on a panel with actual economists as anything other than hilarity.

Andy's sister also gets a mention!

Sony-nominated podcast sensations Helen Zaltzman and Olly Mann host their very own "weblebrity" awards show for 5 Live, Web 2009 With Helen And Olly, judging the funniest and strangest web-content from 2009.

Would she be biased if she gave a shout-out to The Bugle? ;^)

On Thursday, December 3rd, Andy'll be performing for the JCC's Left Right Night. He'll be doing both the panel and the variety show which, according to this blog, "gives carte blanche to comedians, live artists and musicians to try their riskiest, most provocative knife-edge material." Hep hep! You can book tickets here.

I wonder if the bookers are aware that Andy is a baaaaaaadddddd Jew? ;^)

A random Bugle rec on a forum (Aberdeen Music Forums)was phrased too cute to pass along:

As well as the stuff that's already been mentioned I listen to The Bugle podcast from Andy Zaltzman (brother of Helen from the Answer Me This podcast) and John Oliver (of The Daily Show fame) which is good if you're into surrealist political satire and ridiculous puns.

I always enjoy a shout-out about Andy's talented family. ^_^

I discovered this entirely by accident, so apologies if it's common knowledge, but it made me smile. Was listening to I'm Sorry, I Haven't A Clue on BBCiplayer, and just before it started there was a trail for the return of The Now Show (HURRAH! How I've missed it.), and who should feature in this trail but our wonderful Zaltz?

The link is here; not sure when Andy's on it, but the show itself starts again on Friday.
